27.03.2014 FINE WATCHMAKING - ICON OF THE WORLD “GENÈVE” – pièce unique
FINE WATCHMAKING ICON OF THE WORLD “GENÈVE” – pièce unique
Jordi immortalises Geneva as the latest in the legendary Icons of the World collection of unique timepieces.
An unparalleled view over the Alps and the Mont Blanc; the sight of the Jet d’eau blowing gently in the breeze like some sort of ephemeral sail; the cobbled streets of the old town and St. Peter’s Cathedral, the centre of the Reformation movement with its 157 steps leading to the top of its tower; the Palais des Nations, symbol of Geneva, capital of peace; the birthplace of Fine Watchmaking from the Flower Clock to the watchmakers’ boutiques – all of these are part of the innumerable things that will make Geneva stay in your heart forever. In 2014, Michel Jordi captures the essence of the City of Calvin with the latest in his Icons of the World collection of unique timepieces in which the
Swiss watchmaker pays homage, through beautiful designs and watchmaking complications, to some of the world’s most legendary places.
An original and innovative complication model is introduced annually to the collection, each issued in a limited edition of three, and in which the day/night display at 10 o’clock creates a surprise by revealing the places or monuments that gives a country iconic stature. The models released to date feature the Great Wall of China, Japan with Mount Fuji, the Kremlin in Moscow, the USA with the iconic Statue of Liberty in New York, London by its Tower Bridge and the “Gherkin” skyscraper, and Dubai with Jordi’s exquisite representation of the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab landmarks.
Stunning skyline Here, presided over by a welcoming sun and attendant star, the gleaming snowy peaks of the Mont Blanc range tower behind St Peter’s Cathedral, overlooking Geneva’s chic shopping streets, as well as the homes of the town’s legendary watchmaking and other craftsmen known as the cabinotiers. A timeless cityscape set against the banks of a deep blue lake. In the foreground, gracing the Bay of Geneva, is the force of the mighty Jet d’eau, one of the highest fountains in the world, pumping 500 litres of water per second to a height of 140 metres, a symbol of Geneva and Switzerland’s strength, ambition and vitality.
This delightful representation of Geneva reflects the key identity codes of the JORDI Swiss Icon collection. The ergonomic design evokes the shape of an Alpine river pebble, the source of inspiration for the collection. The traditional Swiss art of paper-cut design – subtly revived and updated – lends a
subtle touch to the dial while making a powerful match for the resolutely contemporary design. Meanwhile, the combination of titanium and 18K red gold for the case accentuates the unmistakable strength of character of this masterpiece, which is fitted with a dedicated “Icons of the World” genuine leather strap in black and brown.
Unique gong-striking mechanism In cooperation with Jean-François Mojon – winner of the Best Watchmaker award at the 2010 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix – Michel Jordi has created a very original gong-striking mechanism, which contributes to the overall rarity and uniqueness of this limited series. Instead of the usual vibrations of the case back, a hammer strikes the gong at a low frequency of 2Hz, reminiscent of the cadence of the ringing of a mountain chapel bell.
The monobloc hammer is crafted from one rectangular piece, resulting in a better sound amplification. It can be admired through an opening on the dial.
This finely crafted hand-wound movement with double barrels guarantees a 72-hour power reserve and ensures the complication will not disrupt the movement’s timekeeping.
Founded in 1988, JORDI Swiss Icon is distinguished by its passion for watchmaking and bold creativity, combined with its Swiss heritage, along with an all-encompassing concern for details and excellence.
What more fitting tribute to Geneva’s proud watchmaking heritage could one imagine this exceptional timepiece which so eloquently embodies the handcrafts that have earned the city such enduring renown?

AUTOMATIC CLUB 100 JORDI Swiss Icon’s urban allure
JORDI Swiss Icon Club 100 goes professional with a brand new Automatic version.
Hot on the heels of the Chrono “Club 100”, JORDI launches the new Swiss Icon Automatic Club 100, bringing its sleek good looks to boardroom and urban settings. Pure, understated and issued in a 100-piece limited edition, the Automatic Club 100 is a distinctive option for professionals with class, be they elegant businessmen, hard-hitting lawyers or round the beat bankers.
Showcasing mechanical horology Intended for an audience of connoisseurs and collectors, the new Swiss Icon Automatic Club 100 testifies to its strength of character by an alliance of stainless steel and 18K red gold. It is equipped with a movement finely crafted in the Vallée de Joux and featuring an in-house oscillating weight, which can be admired through its sapphire crystal. The uncluttered chocolate-coloured dial with its six applied gold hour-markers is enhanced by a large date at 12 o’clock – a display option characteristing the other timepieces of the JORDI Swiss Icon collection, yet a rare feature in watchmaking as a whole. The date is set in a JORDI logo plate for clear impact and readability. The smooth and ergonomic pebble shape of the case is emphasized by the domed-sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating providing clear visibility of the dial. In the centre of the rotor, a rosette motif symbolising perpetual movement sets the perfect finishing touch to this self-winding watch.
Wrapping art around the wrist Designed by Ernst Oppliger, a contemporary paper-cut master, the “Swiss Horizon” strap is a work of art in its own right. Depicting a succession of Swiss landmarks, this dark brown genuine leather strap takes its owner on a trip from East to West giving this timepiece its unique identity. The upper section of the strap shows the Alpine skyline featuring Switzerland’s most renowned peaks such as the Matterhorn, the Weisshorn, the Pilatus, the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The lower section features typical, historical Swiss architecture including the Chapel Bridge in Lucerne, Chillon Castle on Lake Geneva, a typical Alpine wooden hut and a traditional Appenzell dwelling.
Striking the perfect balance between classic watchmaking and today’s fast-paced business world, between age-old artistry and contemporary design, the Swiss Icon Club 100 Automatic is the ideal watch for self-assured individuals who are proud to affirm their individuality.

05.02.2014 DUBAI JOINS THE ICONS OF THE WORLD COLLECTION
February 2014. Dubai becomes the latest international city to join Michel Jordi’s revolutionary Icons of the World chronograph collection – in which the Swiss watchmaker pays homage, through beautiful designs and watchmaking complications, to some of the world’s most legendary places.
Jordi’s exquisite representation of the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab landmarks, presided over by a gently smiling sun and the evening star in a deep blue Middle Eastern sky, is part of the Jordi Swiss Icon’s annual parade of authentic icons. An original and innovative complication model is introduced annually to the collection, each issued in a limited edition of three, and in which the day/night display creates a surprise by revealing the place or the monument that gives a country iconic stature, all at the slimmest scale possible of details. The models released to date feature among others the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal, Mount Fuji, the Statue of Liberty, the Kremlin, while Switzerland is represented by the Interlaken and Geneva masterpieces.
More than just a Dubai landmark, Burj Khalifa – the world’s tallest and most stunning tower – is a worldwide monument whose height has returned the location of Earth's tallest freestanding structure to the Middle East, a distinction which belonged to the Great Pyramid of Giza for almost four millennia before being surpassed in 1311 by Lincoln Cathedral in England. The building’s purity and almost perfect aesthetics make it the magnificent centre-piece of Dubai’s new urban masterpiece. Designed in the shape of an Arabian dhow sail, the emirate’s iconic Burj Al Arab is the self-proclaimed first 7 star hotel and the tallest building on a man-made island.
The latest Masterpiece in the Jordi Icons of the World series is the first of a series, which is foreseen to pay tribute to the Emirates and its unparalleled originality, luxury and contribution to the history of construction, all of which have secured its place in the sun of iconic world landmarks.
World-scale day/night disc display
The Dubai masterpiece reflects the key identity codes of the JORDI Swiss Icon collection, with its ergonomic design which evokes the shape of a Rhone River pebble, the source of inspiration for the collection. The traditional Swiss art of paper-cut design – subtly revived and updated – lends a subtle touch to the dial while making a powerful match for the resolutely contemporary design. The combination of titanium and red gold for the case accentuates the unmistakable strength of character of this masterpiece, which is fitted with a dedicated “Icons of the World” genuine leather strap. It is however the day/night indicator that springs the biggest surprise by revealing at 10 o’clock the place or monument that gives the model its iconic nature and appreciation of unique dial work.
A unique gong-striking mechanism
In cooperation with Jean-François Mojon – winner of the Best Watchmaker award at the 2010 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix – Michel Jordi has created a very original gong-striking mechanism, which contributes to the overall rarity and uniqueness of this limited series.

04.11.2013 Lady Icon - Object of desire
A key element in the JORDI Swiss Icon ladies’ collection, Lady Icon forms a beautiful symbolic bridge between the world of watchmaking and that of fashion. The Lady Icon collection is now available with a new stainless steel bracelet, inspired by the shape of a pebble stone.
The clear vision for this feminine line by JORDI Swiss Icon is to highlight the unmistakably contemporary appeal of a self-confident woman who senses a natural kinship with its flowing lines and its inimitably soft shape.
JORDI Swiss icon is now taking things to the next level of intensity with this new model embodying an entrancing fantasy. The astonishing mesh bracelet of the Lady Icon radiates a bold sensuality that transforms the wristwatch into a fully-fledged jewellery creation.
Revisited by JORDI Swiss Icon, it truly becomes a jewellery by its own. So that every woman find the watch to its image, Lady Icon comes in different versions with white, black or pink gold bezel, with or without diamonds. The recommended price starts at CHF 1’495.- up to 4’895.-, according to the model.
A bracelet of rare elegance
The Swiss-based House has indeed raised the bar by dreaming up links inspired by a pebble shape – curved both above and below like rock fragments that have been polished and rounded over countless centuries. The result resembles a woven fabric gently embracing the wrist, procuring unbelievable comfort and a rich sensorial experience. The size of the links has been reduced to enhance the overall suppleness, while a rosette motif symbolising eternal movement lends a final graceful touch to this voluptuous bracelet.
The brand’s signature “paper-cut” design adorns the dial. Stemming from China where it is known as Jianzhi, and featured on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists, paper-cutting is a prodigious demonstration of the art of using alternating filled and empty spaces. It is echoed in Switzerland where virtuoso artists use the tips of scissors of scalpel-shaped knives to create an enchanted world by dint of their expertise and their imagination. Like all such artistic crafts, paper-cutting calls for rigorous discipline and infallible patience. It is extremely rare, as befits all exceptional things.
The evocative power of JORDI Swiss Icon carries whispers of a world where time stands still and hearts beat faster.
With the Lady Icon model, tell people who you are. Experience the luxury of time.
28.10.2013 Iconic London – Rising behind Tower Bridge
On the occasion of the prestigious SalonQP fine watch exhibition, Jordi is unveiling a new alarm watch dedicated to the capital of England. London with its four World Heritage sites naturally finds its place within the “Icons of the World” Fine Watchmaking collection launched by JORDI Swiss Icon in 2012.
London, a new step for the Icons of the World
It’s time for a new icon, this time inspired by London. JORDI Swiss Icon tells its story with unprecedented evocative power that will be duly appreciated by passionate devotees of Fine Watchmaking.
On each Icon of the World, the day/night disc springs a surprise, gives each country its iconic character. A collection, each one depicting an iconic place or landmark, each issued in a limited edition of three unique timepieces. Among all the extraordinary monuments in the city of London, Tower Bridge was chosen to adorn this complex and sophisticated timepiece. This monumental work with its two neo-gothic towers was at the time of its construction the largest and most sophisticated bascule bridge ever built. Another motif chosen for the Icon of the World London model is the skyscraper nicknamed the “Gherkin”: the first environment-friendly building on this scale featuring a spiralling façade, offering dizzying views over the City and representing yet another distinctive landmark on the London skyline. The titanium case and its smooth shape lend the final touch of character to this distinguished chronograph.
A unique gong-striking mechanism
In cooperation with Jean-François Mojon - best Watchmaker at the 2010 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève - Michel Jordi has created an unusual gong-striking mechanism. Instead of the usual vibrations of the caseback, a hammer strikes the gong at a low frequency of 2Hz, reminiscent of the cadence of the ringing of a mountain chapel bell. The design of this model reflects again the signature codes of the Swiss Icon collection, including a sapphire crystal cambered like a pebble from the River Rhône and the cylinder-shaped crown featuring a deconstructed Swiss flag. It is however the day/night indicator that springs the biggest surprise by revealing at 10 o’clock the place or monument that gives its model its iconic nature.
The hand-winding manufacture movement presents incredible details. Visible through the off-centered dials on different levels, this model offers a real harmony to the expert eye.
13.09.2012 Lady Icon from JORDI Swiss Icon
A seductive collection for the contemporary woman
This collection looks like it appeared straight out of a fairy-tale. Each model tells its own story, and all tell the fascinating world of JORDI Swiss Icon that so adeptly captures the imagination by combining evocative aesthetics, tradition and modernity.
JORDI Swiss Icon shows a unique ability to create contrasts, building on traditional know-how and avant-garde design. For its feminine line, the brand pursues its vision in the same audacious creative vein.
A seductive collection for the contemporary woman For its feminine line, the vision is clear: interpreting contemporary seduction, that of a feminine and distinctive woman who senses an affinity with flowing lines forming a soft, curvaceous design that is simply unique.
The 37 mm stainless steel case with its softly ergonomic shape and domed sapphire crystal gracefully evokes the smoothly rounded curves of a polished river pebble. Wearing it procures a sense of extreme ease and comfort. The polished-lacquered dial is enlivened by a small seconds display at 6 o’clock, along with a highly legible large date at 12 o’clock.
Graced by a “paper-cut” design, an artistically understated depiction of animals and flowers forming a delicately intertwining lacework pattern, the Lady Icon collection sets itself apart from all other watches made for women.
To ensure each woman finds the watch that most closely resembles her, Lady Icon comes in all-steel, pink gold and steel or soft black version, with or without diamonds. The gem-setting work is expressed in accordance with various personalities, ranging from diamond chatons for subtle sophistication, to a gem-set bezel, and all the way through the most voluptuous variation of all, full-set with 282 diamonds totalling 2 carats.
Driven by a quartz movement to ensure you are always on time. Lady Icon is teamed with a choice of genuine leather, genuine alligator or satin strap. It is water-resistant to 30 metres.
Flying colours! The collection also features a high-fashion, offbeat model called Lady Deep Purple. In tune with the colour-block trend that has been appearing on fashion show podiums around the world, Lady Deep Purple dares to display a vivid shade of violet that is ideal in all circumstances. The model also features a decidedly modern and contemporary touch in the shape of a cylindrical crown housing the Swiss flag, along with generous hands, a decorative ring and inserts in anodised purple aluminium.
